CLIP-IN RANGE BY MARKET TIER

Three demand tiers. Three different volume and margin profiles.

Build a clip-in programme around what actually sells: proven full-set classics, fast-rising seamless constructions, and low-competition halo-wire pieces. Each tier uses the same 100% Remy human hair base; the difference is construction, wearer profile and specification.

Classic sandwich tape-in human hair extensions
CLASSIC BESTSELLERS

Invisible ultra-thin tape-in extensions versus regular PU tape
RISING TRENDS

Invisible & Re-Tapeable Tape-Ins

The fastest-growing segment as clients demand a flatter root profile and longer wear cycles. Ultra-thin PU or matte-finish bases reduce visible seams, while re-tapeable panels let salons refresh the adhesive and reuse the hair.

Includes
Invisible ultra-thin tape · matte-finish base · re-tapeable wefts · replacement tape tabs
Typical spec
14–22 in · 2.0–3.0 g per piece · <0.5 mm base · clear/beige seamless adhesive
Weight guidance
Confirm base translucency, adhesive strength across wash cycles, and re-tape durability
Why stock it
Premium price positioning, social-media appeal, supports recurring maintenance-product sales

NICHE OPPORTUNITIES

Colour, Ombre & Sensitive-Scalp Tapes

A smaller but high-margin segment covering fashion balayage, root-to-tip ombre, low-adhesive sensitive-scalp panels and starter kits for new wearers. These products differentiate a range beyond classic solid colours.

Includes
Balayage/ombre tape-ins · low-adhesive sensitive panels · fashion colour accents · DIY starter kit
Typical spec
14–22 in · 2.0–3.0 g per piece · custom colour transitions · hypoallergenic adhesive option
Weight guidance
Colour matching at root and end, adhesive gentleness for sensitive scalps, kit packaging
Why stock it
Higher margin, lower direct competition, strong social and bridal/special-occasion demand

PRODUCT SELECTION LOGIC

Choose the product in the same order your customer does.

Start with the natural-hair profile and desired coverage, then choose adhesive profile, piece count and grams. This prevents a buyer from treating every tape-in pack as the same product.

01 · NATURAL HAIR

Match the wearer profile

Fine hair usually needs lighter, fewer pieces and gentler adhesive; medium and thick hair need more pieces and stronger hold for a lasting blend.

02 · DESIRED COVERAGE

Choose pack size by coverage

Decide whether the customer needs a half-head refresh, standard full-head coverage or extra density before locking piece count.

03 · FINISHED PRODUCT

Lock construction and specification

Approve the tape type, piece count, grams per piece, length, colour, adhesive system and packaging together as one repeatable product.

VERIFIED SET MAPS

Know exactly what is inside each full set.

These piece maps come from the existing DS HAIR product record. Final grams, construction, length and colour are confirmed with the selected sample.

THE COMPLETE PRODUCT DEFINITION

Six layers make one repeatable specification.

A catalogue name is not enough. These six layers must agree before sample approval and quotation.

    Wearer & result

Fine, medium or thick natural hair; volume, length, side fill or full coverage.

  2. 02

    Tape construction

BUILD YOUR BUYING BRIEF

Select the specification you want us to review.

These controls prepare an enquiry; they do not indicate live stock. Final feasibility, MOQ, price and lead time are confirmed in writing.

Pack format

Choose the selling unit first. Piece count refers to individual tape panels; two panels form one sandwich.

Requested length

Lengths shown are buying-request options, not live-stock claims. Final availability is confirmed with the selected construction and weight.

Grams per piece

Weight refers to the hair weight per individual panel. Total pack weight depends on piece count.

Tape construction

Classic, invisible and re-tapeable are different constructions. Select the intended adhesive profile and base thickness before confirming colour and packaging.

Target wearer / result

This selection guides piece count and adhesive choice. It is not a universal suitability guarantee; the final product should be tested on the intended wearer profile.

PRIMARY COLOUR SYSTEM

BUYER ANSWER

What is this product for?

A complete tape-in range for salons, distributors and private-label brands. Choose the adhesive profile and panel format first, then confirm the piece count, grams per piece, length, colour and packaging as one repeatable specification.

EVALUATION POINTS

What your team should verify.

Use a representative sample to turn visual impressions into an approved, repeatable product reference.

01

Base & adhesive

Review PU thickness, base colour/translucency, adhesive tack, residue and wash-cycle performance.

02

Hair retention

Test shedding before and after controlled washing, styling and tape replacement cycles.

03

Panel consistency

Confirm every panel width, hair weight and end density across the pack.

04

Comfort & removal

Check scalp tension during wear and clean removal with the recommended solvent.

CONSTRUCTION KNOWLEDGE

Classic sandwich and invisible tape are two different product constructions.

Invisible and classic are construction choices, not automatic quality grades. The correct decision depends on the target wearer, adhesive performance and approved physical sample.

TAPE-IN FORMATS

Four adhesive profiles—four different buying briefs.

Select the tape profile by wearer density, target result and maintenance model. Do not use piece count as a shortcut for hold, comfort or quality.

PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

Use the page to make a better buying decision.

Practical guidance for salons, distributors and private-label teams. Product-specific claims still require sample approval.

01

What types of human hair tape-ins are available?

The range can be developed as classic sandwich panels, invisible ultra-thin panels, re-tapeable panels, sensitive-scalp panels or fashion colour/ombre panels. Each type serves a different wearer profile and salon workflow.

02

How many tape-in pieces does a client need?

Fine hair may need 40–50 pieces for a full look, medium hair 50–60 pieces and thick hair 60–80 pieces. Two pieces form one sandwich, so a 40-piece pack creates 20 sandwiches.

03

How do classic and invisible tape-ins differ?

Classic tape-ins use a standard PU base with medical-grade adhesive. Invisible tape-ins use a thinner, often translucent base to reduce the visible seam at the root. Hold, residue and re-tapeability must be tested for each.

04

What controls a reliable reorder?

Keep one approved sample and one written specification covering panel width, grams per piece, adhesive type, base colour, hair details, colour reference, tolerances, packaging and QC checkpoints.

05

Can tape-in hair be reused?

Yes, if the panels are designed as re-tapeable. Stylists remove the panels, clean residue and apply new adhesive tabs. Re-tapeable panels can extend the useful life of the hair and create recurring sales of replacement tape.

06

What should a buyer check before approving colour?

Match the base/root colour to the client’s natural hair and confirm any balayage or ombre transition against a physical reference. Screen colours are not reliable for final approval.

BUYER QUESTIONS

Before you request a quote

Do Tape-In Hair Extensions have a product code?

No. This product family is identified by its product name and confirmed specification: classic, invisible, re-tapeable or colour/ombre tape-in, followed by the panel format, length, grams, colour and packaging.

Can I request a sample pack?

Yes. Share the preferred tape type, piece count, length, target grams per piece, colour direction and any adhesive requirements. Sample feasibility, cost and timing are confirmed against that brief.

Does 40 pcs/pack define the full product?

No. The full specification also needs the construction, panel width, grams per piece, adhesive system, length, texture, colour reference and repeat-order tolerances.

Can DS HAIR develop invisible or re-tapeable tape-ins?

Yes. State the target base thickness, transparency level, adhesive strength and whether replacement tape tabs are required so the construction can be evaluated.

Are all lengths and weights shown ready to order?

No. They are buying-request options for preparing a brief. A length and gram value is not confirmed until it is tied to the chosen product type, panel spec, hair specification and written quotation.

Can I request private-label packaging?

Yes. Label, backing card, storage box and retail-pack requirements can be reviewed with the product brief. Feasibility and minimum quantities are confirmed separately.
